Sandra Altwerger is an artist and Associate Professor at the Ontario College of Art and Design. She has been teaching and exhibiting as a fine artist since 1975 in Canada, the USA and Europe.

Sandra studied both in Canada and Mexico and also taught in China. A world traveler, much of her inspiration comes from distant places.

Sandra’s work is painterly and spontaneous. She is a superb colourist and although the work was based originally on landscape and printmaking, she is currently focused on creating abstract paintings on canvas. Her prints and paintings can be found in many major collections including the Canada Council Art Bank,  The Government of Ontario, The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, The Toronto Dominion Bank and Ernst and Young.
